Nigeria’s culinary superstar, Hilda Baci, is setting the stage for another Guinness World Record attempt, this time with Nigeria’s beloved jollof rice. The highly anticipated event will be held at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos and is expected to welcome over 20,000 guests, food enthusiasts and cultural tastemakers.

In a recent Instagram video, Hilda was seen inside a massive six metre wide custom pot, carefully scrubbing the interior until it shone. “Yes, I can officially confirm this pot is squeaky clean,” she said with a playful smile. “I personally rolled up my sleeves and washed it myself.”

A Pot Designed for History

The enormous pot was built exclusively for this record-breaking attempt and is designed to hold thousands of servings of rice. Hilda revealed that the pot was washed and rinsed multiple times to ensure it met strict hygiene standards.

“I am going to rinse it again, and I have brand new mopsticks that I will use to clean it once more before we cook for you,” she told fans. Her lighthearted video made social media users laugh when she quipped, “I know you are probably wondering why I am inside the pot. The reason I am inside the pot is because I need to wash it.”

Hilda is not just focused on breaking records she is determined to serve safe and high-quality food. “This same pot will be home to thousands of servings of Nigerian jollof history in the making,” she said. “I pledge to serve the most amazing, hygienic food you have ever eaten.”
