Powering Precision: JMG Delivers 9MW Energy Backbone for Africa’s Premier Medical Centre
In Abuja, a quiet transformation in healthcare is taking shape. JMG Limited, a leading Nigerian electromechanical solutions provider, has completed a 9MW energy infrastructure project for the African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE).

The AMCE is a flagship facility supported by the African Export Import Bank. It aims to provide specialized care and reduce the need for medical tourism. For that vision to work, power must never fail.
Precision Power for Critical Care
To meet the centre’s needs, JMG designed and delivered a complete energy system. It includes six Mitsubishi 1800kVA diesel generators, model S16R PTA2, offering 10.8MVA of total capacity. The backup system features Legrand UPS units providing 1,400kVA. This ensures continuous power for life saving equipment.
Additional components include 4000A synchronization panels, low voltage main and sub main panels, capacitor banks, and full facility wiring. Every element was built to ensure stability, reliability, and performance.
Healthcare Demands Zero Downtime
Mahmoud Hamadi, General Manager of JMG’s Electrical and Projects Division, explained the project’s importance. “Power is not just a service here. It is part of the medical response,” he said. “Every piece, from the generators to the control panels, had to meet a higher standard.”
The system is fully automated. It can switch between grid and generator power instantly, without human input. This allows AMCE to run 24 hours a day, no matter the external conditions.

JMG is Nigeria’s official distributor of Mitsubishi generators. These units are known for durability, low fuel consumption, and stable performance in tough environments.
