Samsung Introduces Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba Language Options on Galaxy Devices in Nigeria

In a landmark move to promote inclusivity and enhance user experience, Samsung Electronics has officially launched Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba as language options on select Galaxy smartphones. This update is now available on the Galaxy S25, A56, A36, and A26 devices, reaffirming Samsung’s commitment to delivering innovative technology that speaks the language of its users.

With this update, Samsung is breaking new ground by making its devices more accessible to millions of Nigerians who prefer engaging with technology in their native languages. This development not only improves ease of use but also reflects a deeper respect for Nigeria’s diverse cultural identity.

The new language options have been integrated to ensure a smooth, seamless experience. According to Stephen Okwara, Head of Product Management at Samsung Electronics West Africa:
“The update is designed to make switching languages easy and intuitive. Users can activate Hausa, Igbo, or Yoruba by navigating to:
Settings > Language & Input > Select Language.”
He added that this feature is especially valuable for users who are more comfortable in their native languages, enhancing digital literacy and encouraging broader technology adoption.
