Patricia Obozuwa Takes the Helm of Nigeria Global Reputation Management Project

Nigeria has named Patricia Obozuwa as the Managing Director of the Nigeria Global Reputation Management Project, a national initiative powered by the National Orientation Agency. The project seeks to strengthen Nigeria’s image globally by driving cultural diplomacy, strategic communications, and multi sector collaboration.

Career Journey

Patricia began her professional path in 1997 as an Assistant Curator at Nimbus African Art Gallery. She later joined the British Council as Arts and Sponsorship Manager, where she built strong expertise in cultural relations and partnerships. She moved into corporate communications with Procter and Gamble, where she rose from Corporate Communications and Brand PR Manager for West Africa to Head of External Relations in Nigeria and Corporate Communications Leader for Sub Saharan Africa.

Leadership Across Global Brands

Patricia shaped narratives and drove strategy at some of the world’s most influential companies. At General Electric, she worked as Chief Communications and Public Affairs Officer for Africa. She later joined The Coca Cola Company and led as Vice President for Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability in Africa. She also founded Greenbow Advisory, a consultancy dedicated to sustainability and stakeholder engagement.

Expertise and Education

Over the last two decades, Patricia built a reputation as a leader in communications, government affairs, and sustainability. She drives strategy, public relations, business planning, negotiations, and social impact. She studied Accounting at Obafemi Awolowo University, completed a postgraduate degree in Business Administration with focus on Leadership and Sustainability at the University of Cumbria, and earned a Corporate Affairs Academy certificate from the Said Business School at the University of Oxford.

Driving Nigeria’s Reputation Project

In her new role, Patricia will lead Nigeria’s official global reputation initiative. She will guide strategies that highlight the nation’s creativity, progress, and opportunities. She will also work to unify citizens around a shared identity while presenting Nigeria’s strengths on the international stage.

Her appointment signals a turning point. By taking charge of this initiative, Patricia will help Nigeria tell its story with clarity and credibility. She brings both the corporate expertise and cultural insight needed to make the project a long term success.
