Lafarge Africa Celebrates Trade Partners at 2024 Customer & Transporter Awards

In a night that celebrated partnership, performance, and progress, Lafarge Africa Plc hosted the 2024 edition of its Customer & Transporter Awards, recognising the stellar contributions of its trade partners and customers. Held at the Landmark Event Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, the high-energy event brought together industry stakeholders, logistics leaders, and commercial partners to commemorate a year of collaboration and growth.
With the theme “Growing Beyond Limits,” the event reinforced Lafarge Africa’s commitment to innovation, sustainable partnerships, and market leadership in Nigeria’s building solutions sector.
Honouring Partnership and Performance
Welcoming guests, Lolu Alade-Akinyemi, Group Managing Director/CEO, Lafarge Africa Plc, lauded the critical role of transporters and trade partners in the company’s success story.
“The Customers and Transporters Awards is our unique way of celebrating your resilience, integrity, and trust. You are the lifeblood of our value chain, and your efforts form the foundation of every milestone we achieve,” he said.
His remarks were echoed by Gbenga Onimowo, Commercial Director, who described the trade ecosystem as a “community of champions” committed to mutual growth.
“We are partners climbing the ladder together. Your consistency continues to elevate Lafarge’s standing as a market leader,” he added.
Logistics Director Osaze Aghatise also emphasised the company’s drive to innovate its supply chain and transport infrastructure, ensuring smooth delivery of Lafarge’s premium cement and building materials across Nigeria.
“You’ve matched our energy and ambition. Together, we are setting new industry benchmarks in logistics and customer service,” he noted.

Celebrating the Best in the Business
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of awards across several categories:
- National Volume Champion: Etim Okon of Batoframoj E. Enterprises—awarded a 2025 Toyota Prado.
- 1st Runner-Up: Igwe Ezeumeh Cosmas Chizoba of C.C. Umeh & Sons Ltd. received a 2025 Toyota Fortuner.
- 2nd Runner-Up: Elder Ubong Obot of Ubotex Nig. Ltd. won a 2025 Toyota RAV4.
Other national volume awardees included Prince Sunny Nwodo (Global SNCO WA Ltd), Emeka Umeoduagu (U. Mekason Trading Stores), Alhaji Rasheed Olota (Global 50:50 Concept), Echezona Unegbe (Unegbe Ventures), Engr. Emeka Odogo (Goldpine Services), Olufolake Agbaje (Maseliz Enterprises), and Oduwole Aderonke (Vicross Enterprises).
Transporters Recognized for Operational Excellence
Olayiwola Kazeem of Kaysky Nigeria Limited was named Best Overall Transporter of the Year, while Julius Ben Construction and Abdlas Logistics Nigeria Limited emerged as Regional Transport Champions (East and West, respectively).
In addition to plaques and certificates, awardees received luxury gifts including 2025 Hyundai SUVs, industrial generators, and tonnes of Lafarge cement and mortar, affirming the company’s culture of appreciation and excellence.
