Threads of Legacy: The Future Awards Africa Unveils Jury for 19th Edition

For close to two decades, The Future Awards Africa (TFAA) has stood as a cultural symbol for possibility and excellence across the continent. Branded as the “Nobel Prize for young Africans,” the platform has consistently recognised extraordinary leaders aged 18 to 33 whose work is shaping the present and redefining the future.

The 19th edition of TFAA, themed Threads of Legacy, continues this tradition by celebrating not just the achievements of Africa’s rising leaders but also the footprints they are leaving for generations to come.

A Legacy of Recognition

Since its inception, The Future Awards Africa has remained steadfast in its mission to spotlight innovation, leadership, and impact. Its categories span public service, entrepreneurship, culture, social change, and technology, all of which have produced winners who now stand as global voices.

What makes TFAA distinctive is its rigorous and transparent selection process. Each nominee undergoes three layers of evaluation. The Central Working Committee begins the process, the Independent Audit Committee provides oversight, and the final decisions rest with the jury. This layered structure ensures fairness, credibility, and integrity in selecting winners who truly represent Africa’s values.

The Jury: Guardians of Legacy

This year’s jury reflects the depth, diversity, and vision that Threads of Legacy represents. According to Ayodeji Razaq, Executive Director of The Future Awards Africa, “Threads of Legacy speaks to the footprints today’s leaders are leaving behind. Our jury embodies that same idea; women and men whose achievements reflect credibility, depth, and lasting contribution to Africa’s story. Their task is not only to select winners but also to affirm the values that will guide the continent’s future.”

The Future Awards Africa is about continuity, ensuring that today’s brilliance inspires tomorrow’s leaders. Our responsibility is to assess with fairness and celebrate with pride those who embody the true spirit of legacy.”
