Transformation College Launches New Semester with Free Certificate Programs

Education remains one of Africa’s greatest challenges and greatest opportunities. According to UNESCO, more than 98 million children and young people in Sub-Saharan Africa are out of school. This staggering figure represents almost one in five children of primary and secondary school age.

The reasons are complex. Poverty, insecurity, gender inequality, child labour, early marriage, and poor infrastructure continue to keep millions away from classrooms. Without urgent solutions, a generation risks exclusion from the modern economy.

Why the Private Sector Matters

Solving this crisis requires more than government action. A multi layered response is necessary. It includes strengthening public schools, expanding digital learning, offering scholarships, and engaging communities. Public private partnerships are also vital.

The private sector has a powerful role to play. Businesses can support education with sponsorships, infrastructure, mentorship, and skills training. These efforts do more than build social progress. They also create a pool of future employees, entrepreneurs, and consumers. That balance ensures sustainable growth for companies and society alike.

Transformation College as a Model

Transformation College of Business and Technology has become a strong example of what is possible when education is prioritised. The institution removes financial barriers by providing tuition free quality education to learners.

It also equips students with digital, entrepreneurial, and professional skills. This approach ensures learners are not only educated but also employable and ready for future opportunities.

New Certificate Programs

In September 2025, the college will begin a new semester offering two certificate programs:

  • Certificate in Information Systems (CIS). This program gives participants practical knowledge and technical skills for today’s digital economy.
  • Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Business Management (EBM). This program supports entrepreneurs with strategies for growth, sustainability, and modern enterprise leadership.

The semester will run from September 20 to December 13, 2025. Classes will be delivered live online to ensure accessibility for learners across Africa.

Strong Partnerships for Greater Impact

This initiative is funded by the Transformation Foundation of Business and Technology. It is also supported by Training Heights Ltd, Audit Advisory Assurance and Assessment Services Ltd (A4S), and Standards and Best Practices Ltd. These partnerships reflect the value of collaboration in driving educational impact.

Program Director Edith Ugochukwu explained the vision:
“Our mission is to break barriers to education by making professional training accessible, practical, and globally relevant. These certificate programs will empower participants with skills and confidence to thrive in today’s fast changing economy.”

Building Skills for the Future

Transformation College continues to focus on practical, high demand programs across business, technology, artificial intelligence, project management, ISO standards, and personal development. Its goal is to prepare students, job seekers, and professionals for success in a knowledge driven economy.

Enrollment for the new semester is open. Interested participants can register on the official website.
