HM Queen Wa Arian Simone Champions Women’s Economic Freedom at WAW Conference 2025
Her Royal Majesty Queen Wa Arian Simone, CEO of Fearless Fund and founder of Fearless Freedom, joined global women leaders at the Women Allying Women Conference 2025 in Cape Coast, Ghana. The annual gathering, held on September 4, was convened by Her Royal Majesty Olori Atuwatse III, Queen Consort of the Warri Kingdom, Nigeria. This year’s theme, “Collective Power, Lasting Impact: Women Leading Ghana’s Sustainable Transformation,” set the tone for powerful conversations around women, leadership, and legacy.
From the Crown to the Boardroom
Queen Wa Arian Simone’s presence at the conference was more than ceremonial. She was a featured voice on the high-profile panel “From the Crown to the Boardroom: Transgenerational Wisdom for Ghana’s Transformation.” Alongside eminent women leaders, she explored how tradition, governance, and intergenerational wisdom can influence the next chapter of Ghana and Africa’s future.
Speaking on her mission, Queen Wa Arian Simone said:
“As an African Queen committed to women’s empowerment and fair access to capital, being part of Women Allying Women is not only purposeful, but it is also a divine alignment. This is more than a gathering; it is a diasporic and royal bridge rooted in legacy and destiny. I count it a privilege to do God’s work in the earth, together and in fellowship.”
Her words underscored her lifelong vision of bridging the gap between heritage and progress, while creating new pathways for women to thrive in business, governance, and beyond.
A Gathering of Remarkable Women
The 2025 WAW Conference assembled a distinguished lineup of women leaders from diverse fields. Among them were Ambassador Elsie Appau-Ku Essi, Technical Adviser at Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration; Mrs. Maame Efua Houadjeto, CEO of Ehub Ghana; Ms. Hayat Asckhar, lawyer and Managing Partner at Ethereal Limited; and Mrs. Baaba Ankrah, CEO of GIBS Café.
The conference also welcomed Petra Aba Asamoah, General Manager at Media General Ghana; Angela Bamford, media personality and entrepreneur; Ms. Arabba Koomson, journalist and life coach; and Stephanie Busari, CNN Bureau Head in Lagos. Together, they shared insights on how women can strengthen Ghana’s transformation through collaboration, innovation, and mentorship.
Fearless Freedom’s Global Mission
Queen Wa Arian Simone’s role at the WAW Conference aligned with the broader vision of Fearless Freedom, her global initiative dedicated to breaking barriers of economic inequality. The movement seeks to champion financial inclusion, amplify women’s voices, and expand opportunities across Africa and the diaspora.
Her leadership through Fearless Fund has already empowered women entrepreneurs with access to capital, resources, and mentorship. At the WAW Conference, she reaffirmed that true transformation happens when women everywhere have equal seats at the table.
Looking Ahead
The Women Allying Women Conference has become a powerful stage for shaping narratives around women and leadership in Africa. For Queen Wa Arian Simone, the gathering was not just an event but an affirmation of shared responsibility. It was a moment to deepen ties between African queens, professionals, entrepreneurs, and emerging leaders across the continent.
Her voice at Cape Coast continues to remind women that empowerment is both a personal calling and a collective duty.
