NPRW 2025 Begins in Uyo with Over 1,000 Delegates

Uyo Welcomes Africa’s PR Giants as Nigeria Public Relations Week 2025 Kicks Off
The city of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, has transformed into a vibrant hub for Africa’s top communication minds, as over 1,000 delegates converge for the much-anticipated Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW) 2025, officially starting today.
Hosted by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the five-day gathering serves a dual purpose: to celebrate the evolution of public relations and to engage with the socio-political challenges shaping both the profession and the nation.
PR at the Intersection of Trust, Governance, and Strategy
This year’s NPRW goes beyond pageantry. It centres on the urgent need for public relations to evolve into a strategic lever for national cohesion, ethical leadership, and development communication.
In an age of disinformation, trust erosion, and widening citizen-government disconnect, this week’s discourse will serve as a platform for professionals to recalibrate their role as nation-builders.
Renowned tax policy advisor and public policy advocate Prof. Taiwo Oyedele will deliver the keynote address. He is expected to call on practitioners to embrace a broader mandate, beyond media management, to shape public perception, policy direction, and systemic transformation.
The week will also feature seasoned thought leaders such as Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura, Yakubu Lamai, Dr. Omoniyi Ibietan, Tolulope Olorundero, Barr. Chimdi Neliaku, Dr. Abdullahi Maiwada, Adetokunbo Modupe, and Dr. Monday Ashibogwu.
Chair of the NPRW 2025 National Planning Committee, Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, fnipr, emphasised the holistic value of this year’s edition:
“This year’s NPRW promises to be a convergence of ideas, people, and opportunities. From roundtables to cultural showcases, we are celebrating the essence and future of PR in Nigeria.”
