Axxela Expands Lagos Gas Infrastructure by 170km

Axxela Limited, a leading gas and power solutions provider, has expanded Lagos State’s gas infrastructure by 170km, enhancing energy access for industries and businesses across key commercial zones.

The pipeline expansion, executed through its subsidiary Gaslink Nigeria Limited, covers major industrial hubs, including:
- Ikeja
- Ilupeju
- Isolo
- Ijora
- Apapa
- Tin Can
- Victoria Island
- Eko Atlantic
The network is also being extended into the Victoria Island-Lekki corridor, further strengthening Lagos’ industrial energy supply.
During a strategic visit to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at Lagos House, Marina, Axxela reaffirmed its dedication to supporting industrial growth, energy security and environmental sustainability
Governor Sanwo-Olu praised Axxela’s efforts, emphasising the state’s commitment to private-sector investment in energy infrastructure.
Natural Gas: A Cleaner, Cost-Effective Alternative
With unreliable grid power and rising diesel costs, Lagos-based manufacturers and businesses are increasingly turning to natural gas as a sustainable and cost-efficient energy source.
Axxela’s expanded pipeline network will:
- Provide a stable energy supply for industries
- Lower operational costs
- Drive economic growth in Lagos
Beyond gas distribution, Axxela has built Independent Power Projects (IPP) to improve power supply, including Akute and Alausa IPPs for the Lagos State Government and a 5.8MW power plant for Cadbury Nigeria.
These projects reinforce the company’s role as a key energy infrastructure player in Nigeria.
Expanding Sustainable Energy Solutions in Lagos
Kehinde Alabi, Managing Director of Axxela Gas Distribution, highlighted the company’s alignment with Lagos’ industrial growth agenda:
“Our AGI facility in Ikeja and ongoing VI-Lekki corridor expansion demonstrate our commitment to sustainable energy solutions that empower industries and reduce carbon emissions.”
Investing in Social Impact & Sustainability
Axxela is also investing in community development with initiatives such as: tree-planting projects in partnership with LASPARK and the Back-to-School Scholarship Initiative, supporting education in host communities
